Michael Aimino is the founder and principal architect of ForgeDITA. He has worked in software and technical content engineering since 1990, with experience spanning enterprise documentation architecture, DITA content systems, XML publishing, UNIX and database technology, and regulated documentation environments.

ForgeDITA grew from a recurring observation: documentation platforms often become harder to understand and maintain as customization, workflow, and publishing dependencies accumulate. The product is an attempt to address that problem at the architectural level.

The working principles are direct: preserve the standard, expose system behavior, make releases reproducible, keep content portable, and publish limitations honestly.
